AUGUSTA, Ga. - Retired Business woman - went to be with her Lord and Savior February 8, 2011, joining her beloved husband of almost 50 years, Sharkie Hawkins. Mrs. Hawkins was predeceased by her mother and father, Janie Parrish and Kermit K. Faglier; and brothers, Kermit K. Faglier, JR. and Sidney Faglier. Born in Jefferson County in 1932, Mrs. Hawkins spent most of her life in Augusta. She was a hard working Christian mother to Gregory (Cathy) Hawkins of Waynesboro; Gary (Kathy) Hawkins of Augusta; and David (Kathy) Hawkins of Hephzibah. Mrs. Hawkins was a lifetime member of Bayvale Baptist Church. She worked as a supervisor at Marks Manufacturing for 20 years; sold Tupperware as a manager almost 20 years; owned and operated Bi-Rite Food Store in McBean for many years. She was always the first one to help anyone in need; she had a deep love for her family and her Lord. Additional family members include grandchildren, Dana H. Beard (Chris), Shane Hawkins (Ashley), Michael Hawkins (Pam), Amy Hawkins (Jim Wagner), Kevin Hawkins (Reva) and Lisa H. Ridick (Jay ); thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and sisters, Margie F. Cook, Mary F. Todd, Gladys Coulter and Frances F. James. The children wish to give special thanks to her devoted sister and best friend, Mary Todd. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, February 11, 2011 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Lumpkin Road Chapel with Rev. Lloyd C. Green officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906.
