AUGUSTA, Ga. - Miss Lucille Thomas, 92, retired educator entered into rest on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Kentwood Nursing Home after a brief illness. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 27, 2011 in Westover Memorial Park with Dr. Gregory DeLoach officiating. Miss Thomas was the only child of the late Herbert Alexander Thomas and Alma Tabb Thomas and a lifelong resident of Augusta and a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta. Miss Thomas began her teaching career at the age of 19 and retired from Tubman Middle School. After her retirement she traveled extensively and made new friends. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and was a baseball enthusiast.
