AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Ophelia Quick Mitchell, 77, of Augusta, Georgia entered into rest Thursday, January 20, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She treasured time shared with her family. Ophelia established and was dedicated to Watson-Mitchell Home Builders. She was well respected and loved by her peers and associates. In spite of her illness, she never complained and maintained an upbeat and positive attitude. Mrs. Mitchell is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Watson "Tom" Mitchell and their son, Thomas Mitchell. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Clay Mehrhof; two grandsons, Thomas and Clay Mehrhof; one brother, Leonard (Betty) Quick; four sisters, Virginia Blackburn, Maurice (Harry) Whitehead, Maxine (Jamie) Moxley and Jean Bishop (Whitfield White); her dedicated and longtime friend, Ruth Walden; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, January 22, 2011 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with her nephew, Pastor Terry Quick officiating. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Dwayne and Ernie Blackburn, Franklin Thigpen, Michael Whitehead, Gerald Quick and John Moxley. Graveside funeral services will be held 2PM, Saturday at Twin City Cemetery.
