DECATUR, Ga. - Mrs. Myrtle Mildred Towner, 97, entered into rest on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Azalea House. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Platt's Crawford Avenue Chapel with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating. Burial will be private. Mrs. Towner was a graduate of Tubman High School. She worked at the Augusta Arsenal during WWII and continued working at the Arsenal after it was moved to Anniston, AL until her retirement. Mrs. Towner was a longtime resident of the Augusta area and a recent resident of Decatur, GA. Survivors include one son Donald Carter (Dorothy) of Decatur, GA; one grandchild Michael S. Carter of Decatur, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Pineview Baptist Church, 117 Pleasant Home Road, Augusta, Georgia 30907.
