KEYSVILLE, Ga. - Virgil L. Cannon, 88, son of the late Willis M. McAfar Cannon and the late Frank Marion Cannon of Milledgeville GA, entered into rest on Monday, November 29, 2010 at the Keysville Nursing Home and Rehab Center. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Keysville UMC Cemetery. Virgil moved from Milledgeville to Gracewood State School and Hospital at the age of 12 where he entered several work programs and became acquainted with Winton, Marie and Grace Saxon. He soon became a part of their family and the Saxons asked him to live with them which he did for over 20 years. Virgil liked to be busy working and was employed in the Maintenance Dept. at Augusta Regional Hospital. In November 1992, he became a resident at the Keysville Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center where he thrived. He was a good-hearted, hard-working man who loved his friends and could be counted on to lend a helping hand to those in need. Virgil will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
