AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Anthony "Tony" Herrington, 47, entered into rest Thursday, November 25, 2010, at Select Speciality Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted (today) Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from Cumming Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Norris Rouse presiding and the Reverend Doctor Johnny R. Hatney delivering the Eulogy. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park. The remains will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. The funeral procession will leave the residence at 1:15 p.m. Tony graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in 1982, and he worked for The Kroger Company for 29 years. He was a member of Cumming Grove Baptist Church and Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He used his God giving singing talent on many choirs, and he was an unselfish giving man to his family and friends. Survivors are his loving parents, Freddie and Lillie Mae Herrington; a devoted sister, Brenda Herrington; two caring brothers, Freddie Herrington III and Michael Harris; a supportive niece, Nikita Herrington; a prayerful nephew, Nicholas Herrington; a young great-nephew, Varick Harris; aunts and uncles, Joann (Willie) Nicely, Sadie (Edward) McCoy, Ike (Susie) Choice, Charlie Choice, Mary Gilliam, Cynthia Dunbar, and Janice Martin; several close cousins; special friends, Chandra Jacobs, Sylvester Garnett, Lynwood Holmes, and Thedra Howard; two god children, Jennifer McGruder and Varick Harris; and many other sorrowing associates and friends.
