Judith Teresa Poppert ( VINE GROVE, Ky.)

VINE GROVE, Ky. - On Tuesday night, November 16, surrounded by her family, Our Eternal Father sent his Angels to receive his blessed child, Judith Teresa "Teri" Poppert, Vine Grove, KY. Teri was known to her family and friends as "Survivor Spirit" after her courageous 13 year battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, CSM Adrien N. Poppert; her daughter, Adrianne (Ralph) Sheppard; her son, Caleb N. Poppert and fiance, Jaeleen Concepcion; her grandchildren, Mathew Henderson, Joshua Sheppard, and Noalani Poppert, all of Vine Grove, KY; her mother, Linda Kight, Blythe, GA; sisters, Susanne (Tom) McLaughlin, Augusta, GA, Tara (Jimmy) Johnson, Arlington, Texas; brothers, Donald D. Smith, Jr., Augusta, GA and Stacy "Smitty" (Kathy) Smith of Augusta, GA; nieces, Kristin Judy, Stacy Lynn Smith; nephew, Thomas McLaughlin; her grandmothers, Margaret "Granny" Joyner, Millen, GA and Lorene R. Smith of Swainsboro, GA; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald D. Smith, Sr. Teri spent her married life as the wife of a soldier traveling around the world always helping soldiers' families any time it was needed. She was employed with the United States Army Recruiting Command at Fort Knox, KY working with the Family Information Center providing guidance and inspiration to new Army spouses. Within the Armor and Fort Knox community and the United States Armor Association, she was inducted into the Honorable Order of St. Joan D' Arc. Teri was also commissioned in the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Kentucky Colonel for her long serving and dedicated assistance to the military community. Visitation services will be at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, Martinez, GA, Friday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Blythe United Methodist Church, Blythe, GA on Saturday morning, November 20, at 11 a.m. with Chaplain (LTC) Thomas W.
