AUGUSTA, Ga. - James "Jim" Williams, Sr., 84, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Europe during World War II, and he was a retired truck driver. Jim was a member and deacon at Bayvale Baptist Church, where he was also a member of the George Boyd Sunday School Class. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather, and father-in-law. Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Louise Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Ginny Cooler of Augusta; sons, James "Bubba" (Suzan) Williams of Augusta, and David R. (Pat) Williams of McCormick, SC; brother, Edward A. Williams of Appling; grandchildren, Jamie Spears, Heather Williams, Ellen C. Coleman, and Ryan Williams; 7 Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Williams' family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at J.M.S. Burn Center and Regency Hospice. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 at Bayvale Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie K. DeLoach and Rev. Lloyd Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bayvale Baptist Church Building Fund. Which is located at 2240 Bayvale Road, Augusta, GA 30909.
