STAPLETON, Ga. - Mildred Leola Willard, 81, daughter of the late Florance Westwood Willard and the late Fredrick Willard of Wichita, KS, entered her eternal home on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 leaving from Moundridge Manor, Moundridge KS. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 10:30AM in the Pinecrest Mennonite Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Leola was born and grew up in Kansas, where she gave her heart to God and followed His call to teach-a vocation that took her to schools in Kansas, Mexico, and Georgia. In Mexico, she also helped translate and distribute tracts, served on the committee to produce the Spanish hymnal, and taught Spanish to new missionaries. She used every opportunity to share her faith by teaching Sunday schools and Bible schools, as well as having services in the women's prison in Davisboro GA. Leola strived to "walk worthy of the vocation" into which she was called (Eph 4:1-3), and dedicated her life to others. Leola was also preceded in death by her sister and two brothers. She is survived by her brothers and sisters in the faith and the hundreds of pupils she lovingly referred to as her "children". Visitation will be Saturday, October 23, 2010, from 7:00-9:00PM at Pinecrest Mennonite Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to Pinecrest Mennonite Church, c/o David Hibner, 4033 Hwy 296, Stapleton GA 30823.
