Connie Nettles Dew (BARNWELL, Ga.)

BARNWELL, Ga. - Connie Nettles Dew, 78, died peacefully on October 12, 2010, with family members by her side. Connie was born March 25, 1932, in Aiea, Hawaii, to the late Maxima and Pascual Bailon. She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Kellett, Darlene Orr (Tom) and Virginia Nettles; two sons, Terry Nettles (Lynn) and Sanford Nettles (Beverly); siblings, Victoria Batula of California, Julie Whisler of Missouri, Minky Burcham and Carmen Bennett of Arizona, Engracio Bailon, Primo Bailon, Pascual Bailon, Jr., Tommy Bailon, Patrick Bailon and Betty Becera all of Hawaii; grandchildren, Lenny and Garrett Harvey, Stacy Orr Webb, Wesley and Dana Orr, Adam, Colin and Emma Nettles, Patrick and Ross Nettles; and four great-grandsons. She is predeceased by husbands, Joseph Nettles and Ishmael Dew, grandson, Jason Harvey and brother, Zoilio Bailon. Connie was a life-long member of St Andrews Catholic Church in Barnwell, SC. She was also a member of the "Carolina Girls" line dance group, loved singing karaoke, knitting, bowling, yard work, and traveling with her family. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and friends. The family will receive friends at Dyches Funeral Home on Hwy 278 in Barnwell from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. prior to service. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2010, conducted by Rev. James Dubrouillet, at St. Andrews Catholic Church on Madison Street in Barnwell, with burial to follow in Barnwell Memorial Gardens on Reynolds Road in Barnwell. Pallbearers will be Lenny and Garrett Harvey, Wesley Orr, Adam and Colin Nettles, Patrick and Ross Nettles, and Don Gibson.
