Thomas J. Davis ( AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Thomas J. Davis (Tommy) age 62, beloved husband of Christine Davis passed away on Monday, October 11. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 14 at 6:00PM. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 6:00 at the church. Mr. Davis was on the Board of the Augusta Metro Federal Credit Union and was employed with Deerfield Specialty Papers for 38 years. He always said, "his best job though, was becoming part of North Columbia Elementary School." He will not be easily forgotten by the kids and teachers who got to share his smile each and every day. He touched everyone he worked with and easily gave of himself. He was a man who worked hard all his life and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand to friends and family; he was the one person who could fix anything broken. Tommy was a man of great character and integrity and found his path with the Lord. He will be truly missed by all who knew him and were blessed to be a part of his life. Tommy leaves behind a wonderful wife of 34 years and a family that will miss him dearly. He is survived by his children Thomas Davis Jr. and Mona, Pam Childs and Steve, Bret Evans and Lisa; sisters MaryLou Davis, Roberta Davis, Georgetta Davis and brothers Neel Davis, Delbert Davis. He was preceded in death by his brother Edward Davis. He was known to his grandchildren as "Papa Tommy" and loved to spend time with them on his little piece of heaven, his farm. He loved to share his knowledge of his cows, horses and chickens. His grandchildren; Claire and Kathleen Evans, Rebekah Childs and Cory Davis will never forget these memories they shared with their Papa Tommy. He touched their lives in ways they will always remember. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wesley United Methodist Building Fund. Sign the guestbook at
