JACKSON, S.C. - Doris Steed Franklin, age 85, entered eternal rest on October 4, 2010 at the Brain Center in Weaverville, N.C. She was the wife of 52 years to the late John G. Franklin. She was born in Appling, Ga. but had been a lifelong resident of Jackson, S.C. She enjoyed cooking. She really missed her husband, who always loved sharing her cooking with her. She had been employed many years with University Hospital in Augusta, Ga. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, S.C. Other survivors include two sons, John Allen Franklin and his wife Joan Franklin of Jackson, S.C. and David Franklin of Burnsville, N.C.; brother, Harold Steed of Clemson, S.C.; and sisters, Joanne Moore of New Ellenton, S.C. and Margaret Hargrove of Augusta, Ga. She is remembered fondly by her five grandchildren and great grandchildren. Private services will be held by her sons.
