NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mrs. Maude H. Ray, 94, wife of the late Lawton Elbridge Ray, formerly of Wren Road, North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest September 11, 2010, will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Interment in Bethany Cemetery, Aiken, SC. Rev. John D. Meyer officiating. Mrs. Ray was a native of Cobb County, Georgia having made North Augusta her home for the past 40 years. She was a member of Belvedere First Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship of the Lucy Pearson Sunday School Class. Mrs. Ray retired from Roses Department Store. Mrs. Ray's family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of National Healthcare, her home for the last five years, and especially to each employee on the Camellia Wing for their love, kindness and support. Also, a special thanks to her physician, Dr. Jimmy Lemke and to Solaris Hospice for their care and support. She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin E. Herrin and Lou Alice Cobb Herrin, a daughter, Martha Ann Feldbusch, a brother, Robert E. Herrin; sisters, Ethel Sorrells, Lila Poole and Ruby Hill. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Carroll and Janet Ray, North Augusta; Johnny and Judy Ray, Geneva, IL; son-in-law, Walt Feldbusch, OR; 9 grandchildren, Ginger (Sam) Hendricks, Carroll (Paula) Ray, Marty (Teena) Ray, Michael (Kim) Ray, Larry Feldbusch, Jeff (Margaret) Feldbush, Debbie (Keith) Kirchhardt, Brian (Krista) Ray and Tina (Dave) Coalson; 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Gertrude Cooper, Columbia, SC and Verna Murphey, Williston; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 until 8. The family will be at residence of Carroll and Janet Ray, 608 West Woodlawn Avenue, North Augusta, SC 29841. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Memorials may be made to Belvedere First Baptist Church, 421 Edgefield Road, Belvedere, SC 29841.
