AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Jackie H. Fordham, 77, of Augusta, entered into rest Friday, September 10, 2010. She served as a Richmond County Sheriff's Department School Crossing Guard for forty years. She also owned and operated a daycare where she was lovingly known as "Nana" or "Mama Jackie" to many. Mrs. Fordham was a member of Fleming Christian Church for many years. Mrs. Fordham is preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Fordham and her daughter, Deborah S. Fordham. Mrs. Fordham is survived by her three daughters and sons -in-law, Donna and James Sutphin, Terri and Kevin Scaggs and Cynthia "Cindy" Fordham; Alfred Taylor, two sisters, Helen and James Floyd Cannon and Frances Denmark; three brothers, Ronnie and JoAnn Helmuth, Freddie and Sandra Helmuth, Charlie and Becky Helmuth; ten grandchildren, Shannon Hyder, Adam, Courtney, Whitney and Chas Taylor, Ashley Johnson, Daniel Sutphin, Robby, Stacey and Russell Scaggs; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 until 5 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Monday, September 13, 2010 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Graveside services will be held 3PM, Monday at Upper Millcreek Primitive Baptist Church on Highway 25, Statesboro, Georgia.
