KITE, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Ellen Meeks, age 68, of Kite, Ga., died Friday morning, September 10, 2010, at Emanuel Medical Center. Mrs. Meeks was born in Emanuel County and lived in Dellwood for many years before moving to Kite. She was employed by Citizens Bank of Swainsboro as a Proof Operator for many years and was a member of the Dellwood Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truett F. Meeks. Graveside services will be held Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Reverend Lamar Kersey officiating. She is survived by a daughter: Pam Meeks of Kite, Ga.; a brother: Chris Scott (Annette) of Dellwood; a sister Susie Overstreet (Jack) of Dellwood; several nieces and nephews; and two special pets: Rhett and Scarlet.
