LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Mrs. Joyce Holloway Parton, wife of the late Johnie Parton, died Wednesday, September 1st at University Hospital. She was 78 years old. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 3rd at 2 o'clock p.m. at Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church with Revs. Kenneth Law, Addison Belangia, and James James officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Parton, daughter of the late Paul and Blanche Ross Holloway, was a retired seamstress, and lifelong resident of Lincoln County. Also, she attended Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church. Her husband, Johnie, preceded her in death. Her family includes: Daughter: Joy Parton Ray, Washington; Sisters: Nelle H. Parton, Rutherfordton, NC, Dot Snider, and Betty Stevens, both of Lincolnton; Grandchildren: Brittany Ray and Brandi Ray; Brother-in-law: Ray Parton; Sisters-in-law: Dean Flanigan, Peggy Saggus, Myrtle Belangia, and Mary Holloway.
