AUGUSTA, Ga. - On Sunday, August 1, 2010, our loving Heavenly Father reached down in His mercy and love and took Michael Dana Maw to his Heavenly Home. Mike was born in Daytona Beach, Fla., on September 10, 1951, where he resided until 1990. He then moved to Augusta with his two young children, Shawn and Heather. He was a Journeyman Electrician. He was a former Motor Cross-Country racer, with many awards and accolades. Mike graduated from High School and the I.B.E.W. Trade School in Daytona. He graduated from Hebron Colony in Boone, N.C. in 2009. He was an active member of the Overcomes Outreach Center in Martinez. Mike was a loving father to his son, Shawn of Augusta, his daughter, Heather White and her husband Charles of Yuma, Ariz., and also his step-son, Josh Bennett (Nita) of Augusta. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, David Bennett (Traci) of Augusta; his grandchildren, four week old twins, Kaydence Nicole and Kyle Anthony White, and Kaylee, Emily, Joshua, and Justin Bennett. Mike had many caring friends, including Nancy and Jake Wiggins and Elizabeth Boardman and her family. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at 7:00 P.M. at The Overcomers Outreach Center, 3850 Washington Road, Martinez, Ga. 30907, conducted by Dr. Roger Bennett, Pastor. The family will receive friends after the service. They would like to thank all who cared for Mike by encouraging him and helping him along his often difficult journey of life.
