LINCOLNTON, Ga. - William Milton "Bill" Blackmon, 67 of Kings Way, died Friday, July 30th at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington, Ga. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Hephzibah Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Danner officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Mozley Memorial Gardens, Lithia Springs, Ga. Mr. Blackmon, born in Washington, grew up in Lincolnton, and served in the U.S. Army during the early 1960's. Later he moved to the Atlanta area and lived there most of his life. . While in Duluth, Ga., he operated a landscaping service which he devoted over 35 years to. A few years ago, in 2007, he came home to Lincolnton and resided with his mother. Also, he was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church and American Legion #194. He was predeceased by his father, William T. Blackmon, his wife, Helen Holman Blackmon and grandson, Caden Patterson. His family includes: Mother: Mrs. Jennie Blackmon, Lincolnton. Sons: Wlliam M. "Billy" Blackmon, Jr. and wife, Marsha of Monticello Bobby S. Blackmon, and wife, Laura of Duluth, Daughter: Angie B. Patterson, and husband, Scott, of Jefferson Brother: Thomas Elton Blackmon.
