BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Mrs. Leola 'Redd' (Smith) Walker, age 94, passed away at Fair Haven Retirement Community in Birmingham, AL, on Thursday, July 29, 2010. She was born April 2, 1916, to the late Bessie and Eddie Smith. She is survived by her daughter Virginia Givens (George) of Augusta, GA; her daughter Earnestine Thompson (Bruce) of Birmingham, AL; her sister Willie Bell Roberts of Savannah, GA; her stepdaughter Fannie Mae Calhoun (Dee) of Hephzibah, GA; her brother Thomas Griffin (Pearlie) of Girard, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at 1:30 pm from Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Girard, GA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
