JACKSON, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mr. Gene C. Oglesby, 74, of Old Jackson Highway, Jackson, SC, who entered into rest July 30. 2010 will be conducted Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from Matlock Baptist Church. Dr. Mark Riser and Dr. Robert Collum officiating. Interment in St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery, Creston, SC at 2 o'clock. Mr. Oglesby was a native of Holly Hill, SC having Jackson his home for the past 40 years. He was a member of Matlock Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, RA Leader and Choir Member. He was retired from Proctor and Gamble with 30 years of service. Mr. Oglesby was a member of the Silverton Agricultural Club and coached Jackson Dixie Youth Baseball. He was the husband of the late Hellon Lowrey Oglesby. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kelvin and Sandra Oglesby and Leonard Oglesby, all of Jackson; a daughter, Wanda Oglesby, Jackson; a brother Isaac Oglesby, Holly Hill; two grandchildren,Christopher Oglesgy and Amanda Oglesby. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Paul, Barnabas and Silas Sunday School Class and Curtis Oglesby. Active Pallbearers will be David Oglesby, Clay Frazier, Bruce Goff, Kenneth Oglesby, Trevor Haffly, Joey Greene, Al Lee and Lee Andrews.
