LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Mr. Wayne Hawes of Elberton Highway entered into rest Sunday, July 11, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at New Tabernacle Church with Pastor Matthew Harden officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was a native of Lincoln County. He was a faithful member of New Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a farmer, school bus driver, and a retired machine operator from Murray Biscuit Company. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Temmie L. Hawes of Lincolnton, GA; his children: Gertrude Kinard, Willie F. Cagle, and Geraldine (MacAuther) Dixon of Long Island, NY; Joe N. (Shirley) Hawes of Mobile, AL; Margaret Hawes of Lincolnton, GA; Beverly H. (Jessie) Parks and James E. (Doressa) Hawes of Augusta, GA, and 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
