AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, July 5, 2010, Gladys "Annie" Swint Hawkins, 79, wife of Mr. Hunter Hawkins. Mrs. Hawkins was born on September 9, 1930 and was a native of Stapleton, GA and had resided in Augusta since 1945. She was a member of Abilene Baptist Church in Augusta. Family members in addition to her husband include daughters: Sandra Diane Robertson (Mark) of Martinez, GA, Phyllis Hawkins (Tommy Suhor) of Beaufort, SC, Deborah McElmurray (Earl) of Hephzibah, GA, sons: Robert Hawkins (Patty) of Hephzibah, GA, Mark Hawkins of Evans, GA, sister: Faye Smith (Lamar) of Martinez, GA, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Bryan Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in Walden United Methodist Church Cemetery in Avera, GA at 4:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Bob McElmurray, James Lanier, Heath Schondelmayer, Daniel McElmurray, Bobby Hawkins and David Schondelmayer.
