GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - Mr. Richard Griffis, 65, beloved husband of Norma Griffis, of Crystal Peak Rd., entered into rest on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Lake Crossing Health Care. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 29, 2010 in the Rowland Funeral Home Chapel with Jake Griffis and Rev. Wade Everett officiating. Mr. Griffis was a native of Screven, GA having made Graniteville his home for the past 16 years. He was a US Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. Mr. Griffis was a member of Langley United Methodist Church and was a mechanical engineer with Martin Marietta. Additional survivors include one son, Jake Griffis (Vickie) of Evans, GA; one daughter, Samantha Mills (Evan) of Athens, GA; his mother, Rutha W. Griffis of Blackshear, GA; two brothers, Melvin Griffis of Milledgeville, GA and Sidney Griffis of Blackshear, GA; one sister, Joyce Haas of Brunswick, GA; and two grandchildren, Cooper Griffis and Marlea Griffis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until service time.
