MATTHEWS, Ga. - JoAnn Holley Prescott, 75, loving wife to the late Elbert Nathan "E.N." Prescott, left this world and entered into her eternal home on Sunday, March 28, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at James Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 3:00PM with Reverend Billy Duggan and Dr. James M. Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery. JoAnn was the sixth of nine children born to the late Mary Wheeler and James "Jim" Holley and was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. After graduating Wrens High School, she worked at Stapleton Garment Co. for 12 years after which she worked at Ft. Gordon retiring with 40 years of service. JoAnn was fiercely loyal and dedicated-she epitomized honesty and integrity. She was full of life and lived it to its fullest-working hard and playing hard. She was extremely devoted to her family and enjoyed family get-togethers, cooking for her family, travelling with her "sistas", visiting friends, shopping and working in the vegetable garden. She leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her and will be greatly missed. JoAnn is preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Holley, and her sister, Peggy H. Strickland. Her survivors include two children, Wylie G. (Dolores) Prescott and Julie P. (Darrell) Nickles; her siblings, W. C. "Dub" (Clyde) Holley, Wrens GA, Audrey H. (Fred) Bowles, Statesboro GA, Margie L. James, Joyce H. Williford, and Don (Jane) Holley, Harlem GA; a sister- in-law, Ruby T. Holley; six grandchildren, Mindy P. (Nick) Wilcher, Kimberly Prescott, Heath Prescott, Blake Prescott, D. J. Nickles, and DeWayne Nickles; three great- grandchildren, Corbin Wilcher, Samuel Wilcher, and Holley Wilcher; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Pallbearers will be her nephews-Kenneth Holley, Mike Bowles, Raymond James, Wade Williford, Brett Holley and Jason Holley. The family will receive friends at the residence with visitation at James Funeral Home this evening, Tuesday, March 30, 2010, from 6:00-8:00PM.
