BURNETTOWN, S.C. - Mrs. Ruby DuBose Boyd, 87, of Burnettown, SC, wife of the late Harold DuBose and the late E.H. Boyd and daughter of the late Charlie and Margaret Burk Strickland, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 22nd, 2010. Born in Millen, GA, she was a faithful member of Mid-Valley Baptist Church. A very hard working lady, Miss Ruby worked for the Graniteville Company for a year and a half, Clearwater Finishing Plant for over twenty two years, Belks for three years, Cullums for three years and retired from Kendall Pharmaceuticals after over ten years of service. Prior to her health declining she enjoyed sewing and gardening. Family members include her children the late Shirley Housand and Margaret Marie Hodges, Langley, SC; grandchildren, Sharron Altman, Charles Michael Freeman, Stephen Harold Freeman, Lisa Volf, Kathy Cannon, Renee Hollows and Patrick Oellerich. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, March 24th, 2010, at 10 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastor Jim Kirk and Pastor Bert Baynham officiating, Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will her grandchildren, Daniel Hollows and Renee Hollows, Steve Eubanks, Eugene Shaw and Edward Couch. The family has asked that if so desired, memorials be made to Mid-Valley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1323 Langley, SC 29834.
