AIKEN, S.C. - Charles Hampton Jones, 83, died March 20. Loving husband of Barbara Nan Nettles Jones. He was born in Charleston, SC to the late Carl B. Jones, Sr. and Helyn Plowden Jones Whitley. He was a graduate of Coker College and Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a member of Aiken First Presbyterian Church and retired supervisor with EI Dupont and Westinghouse, SRP. He enjoyed hunting and traveling the world. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 23 at Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. David Cozad and Jane Keisler officiating. The Navy will perform Military honors. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, 224 Barnwell Ave., Aiken, SC 29801. Survivors besides his wife include sons, Howard Jones, Aiken and Hugh Jones, Sumter; grandchild, Jesse Jones and two sisters, Frances Murray and Jeanette Streets of Charleston.
