AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ms. Annie Philpot, of Augusta, Ga., entered into rest Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the Golden Living Center. She was a native of Clarks Hill, S.C. and was converted and baptized at an early age at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Clarks Hill, S.C. She received her early education at the Hopewell School. She moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. where she furthered her education. She retired from Coney Island Hospital as a Nursing Assistant. After retiring, she moved to Evans, Ga. and made it home. She united with the Macedonia Baptist Church in Martinez, Ga. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Annie was preceded in death by three sisters, Affie B. Dordan, Selflee Philpot, and Ruth M. East; two brothers, Freddie Philpot and Alfonzo Philpot. She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Audrey Brown; one granddaughter, Edith Brown; four grandsons, Gerald Brown, Eli Brown, Ethan Lebron, and Edward Lebron; two great grands, Gerald Brown III and Lila Brown, all of New York; two sisters, Adline B. Starks and Georgia C. Green, both of Augusta, Ga.; one brother, Leon Philpot and sister in law, Lola Philpot, Miami, Fla.; a dear friend, Walter Hawes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
