HARLEM, GA - Mr. James Christopher (Chris) Lowe, 51, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at his residence after a long illness under the care of his beloved wife Janine Lowe. Mr. Lowe was born in Savannah, Georgia and was the son of James William Lowe, Jr. and Marguerite Register Lowe. He attended St. Michael's Catholic School of Tybee Island, Benedictine College of Savannah and was a graduate of the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. He was an oil worker in Oklahoma and for a time an archeologist. In the recent years, he was a cross country truck driver establishing his owed company, Iron Man Heavy Haul. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, James William and Katherine Lowe and Sidney W. and Marguerite Register of Savannah. Survivors are his wife and business partner, Janine Lowe; father and stepmother, Bill and Ann Lowe of Las Vegas, NV; mother and stepfather, Meg and Dennis Weethee of Harlem, GA; former wife, Paula Sheffield Lowe; daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Michael Barker; two grandchildren, Haley Michelle and Michael Steven Barker, III of Huntsville, AL; brother, James 'Jim' Lowe of Las Vegas, NV; uncle and aunt, Sidney 'Buddy' and Linda Register of St. Augustine, FL; aunt and uncle, Jackie and Charlie Brown of Tybee Island/Metter, GA; cousins, Nicole Ann Register of Savannah, Kevin W. Register of Jacksonville, FL, Joseph Charlton 'Charlie' Brown, Jr. , and Jonathan W. Brown of Tybee Island, GA. Memorial services will be held 2:00PM, Monday, March 22, 2010 at Starling Funeral Home, Harlem, GA with Mr. Lowe's stepfather, Dennis Weethee officiating.
