EVANS, Ga. - Mrs. Carolyn Whisnant Carter, 66, wife of the late Edward Carter of Lake Idylwilde Dr., died Friday, March 19, 2010 at her residence. Cryptside services will be held Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mark Riser officiating. Mrs. Carter, daughter of the late Hubert and Mattie Lee Nichols Whisnant, was a lifelong resident of the Augusta area. After 22 years of service as a lab technician at SRS, she retired in 2008 . She was a dedicated employee, friend to all that knew her and a mother to all of her nieces and nephews. Her interests included working in her yard and travelling all over the world. In recent years, she attended Matlock Baptist Church. She is survived by: Sisters: Trudy Bartlett, and husband, John, of Tullahoma, TN. Virginia Harris, Augusta. Sarah Agnes Roberts, Hephzibah. Ruby Morris, and husband, Zoble of Martinez. Brothers: Lawrence Whisnant, and wife, Louise of Augusta. Julius Whisnant, and Janice of Hephzibah. Several nieces and nephews.
