EVANS, Ga. - Mrs. Lois Belle Martene, 93, entered into rest March 18, 2010. Mrs. Martene was married 58 years to the late Clement W. Martene. She was the daughter of the late Charles & Marjorie Herbeck. She was born in Wanatah, Indiana. She spent most of her married life on Grand Island in New York. She raised her daughter Carolyn there and then went to work at the Island Dispatch. Then Mrs. Martene was employed by the Town of Grand Island as Deputy Town Clerk until her retirement She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn and son-in-law, Anthony Leggio; grandson, Scott Leggio and his wife, Lisa; great-grandsons, Alan and Zachary Leggio; sister, Charlotte Gerth; and brother, Lionel Herbeck. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Herbeck and sisters, Gladys Bates and Maxine Sack.
