AUGUSTA, Ga. - Jeanette Hixon Lackey, 73, of Augusta, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 17, 2010. Jeanette enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, fishing and renovating. She and her husband owned and operated Lackey's Machine and Welding for many years. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Muriel Lackey and their son, Anthony Lee Lackey. Mrs. Lackey is survived by her daughter, Madonna and Steve Sharpe of Grovetown; two sisters, Eloise Cooper of Marietta and Ruby Johnston of Augusta; brother, Thomas Edward Hixon, Sr. of Augusta; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 1PM, Monday, March 22, 2010 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 until 7 PM at the funeral home.
