ALBANS, N.Y. - Mrs. Marie Hooper Philpot, 72, entered into rest March 14, 2010 in St. Albans, N.Y. Funeral arrangements will be announced. Mrs. Philpot was a native of Edgefield, S.C. and a 1956 graduate of Martha Schofield High School. Mrs. Philpot is the daughter of the late Orlando and Julia Harper Hooper and the granddaughter of the late Rev. Willie and Frances Harper. Survivors include her sons, Bryant Philpot, Atlanta, Ga., Keith Philpot, Baltimore, Md., and Sean Philpot, Lumbarton, N.J.; five brothers, Johnnie Hooper, Hollis, N.Y., Charles (Pearl) Hooper, Atlanta, Ga., Nathaniel Hooper, Ridge Spring, S.C., Melvin (Audrey) Hooper, Stockbridge, Ga., and Raymond (Tonita) Hooper, Hephzibah, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
