AIKEN, S.C. - Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Bush Long, age 76, widow of the late Rev. Albert Long, of 1630 Gray Mare Hollow Road, who passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010 at her residence will be held 12 Noon Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Millbrook Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Wilson Presiding and Rev. Daviad Mitchem, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Park Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The repast will be held at the Fellowship Hall of Park Missionary Baptist Church following the interment. A native of Old Ellenton, SC, she was a member of the Park Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from Graniteville Company and was a member of Esther Chapter #347, Order of Eastern Stars of New Ellenton and the CSRA Ministers' Spouses Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walton and Alma Dicks Bush, her husband, and three children, Bernard Long, Alma Ann Long, and Northern Long; one sister, Eleanor Helen Pressley, and two brothers, William Bush and James Bush. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Bernice Long DeLoach and her devoted son-in-law, Tyrone DeLoach, Aiken, SC; her son, Rev. Dr. Lorenzo (April) Long, Columbia, MD; three grandchildren, Daphne DeLoach, David Long, Selwyn DeLoach; two great-grandchildren, Christian and Chandler; her sister, Geneva Jones, Aiken, SC; three brothers, Earl Bush, Aiken, SC, Walton Bush Jr., Brooklyn, NY and George (Essie) Bush, Beech Island, SC; her aunt, Mrs. Anna Dicks, Aiken, SC; devoted sister-in-law, Ida Mae (Fred) Bell, Aiken, SC; other sisters-in-law, Arrie Mae Long, Baltimore, MD and Irene Bush, Aiken, SC. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons and Active Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary Flower Bearers will be Ministers' Wives and Active Flower Bearers will be members of Esther Chapter #347, Order of Eastern Stars of New Ellenton. Mrs. Long will lie in state at the church from 11 AM until the hour of service. The funeral procession will leave the residence at 11:15 AM Saturday. Friends may call at the residence or at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home beginning 3 pm Friday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6pm- 7pm.
