AIKEN, S.C. - Funeral services for Mr. James F. Rodgers will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken with Rev. Steven Drawdy, Rev. Finley Limehouse. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Association, South Carolina Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd, Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621 Mr. Rodgers, 86, of Aiken, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Harbor Chase. Born in Saluda County, SC, he was the son of the late Ervin and Katie Rodgers. He lived in Cordova, SC, and Stiefeltown, SC, before moving to Aiken in 1970. James retired after thirty years of service with Aiken County School District as a supervisor in the Heating and Air Department. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. James liked to fish, work in the yard and spend time in the outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Cora Mae Storey, Thelma Storey, Charlie Mae Turner, Brice Key, Ella Mae Quattlebaum, Lois Chance, brothers, Price Rodgers, and Jady Rogers. He is survived by special nieces and caregivers, Dorothy Coursey, Gayle (Allen) Parkman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
