TRENTON, S.C. - Mr. James L. "PD" Brighthop, 87, of Brighthop Road, entered into rest Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the Medical College of Georgia. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Mr. Brighthop, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Young Macedonia Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Frances Broadwater Brighthop; a son, Chester (Lenora) Brighthop, Trenton, S.C.; three daughters, Frances Brighthop and Bridges Mealing, Trenton, S.C., and Cookie (Preston) Sykes, North Augusta, S.C.; a brother, Johnny (Mary) Brighthop, Trenton, S.C.; two sisters, Rosa Mae Coleman, North Augusta, S.C. and Fannie Christie, Trenton, S.C.; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
