AUGUSTA, Ga. - Hillard Clyde Wehunt, 88, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Mr. Wehunt was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Wehunt and his youngest child Sean Wehunt. Memorial services will be held at 3 PM on Monday, March 15, 2010, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Road Chapel, with Rev. Timothy Green and Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Mr. Wehunt had lived in Augusta since 1984 residing at Augusta Gardens Assisted Living for the past seven years. He served his country in the Navy in both WWII and the Korean Conflict and retired after serving 20 years as Chief Petty Officer. He then worked and retired as a Civil Servant at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was a lifelong Mason and a member of the American Legion and VFW. He is survived by three daughters, Hillary Titus, Huntsville, Alabama, Dana (Tommy) McCann, Mooresville, North Carolina, Kelly (Samuel) Wellman, Grovetown; son, Casey (Andrea) Wehunt, Oswego, New York; ten grandchildren, Kim Sawyer, Kasey McCann, Patrick McCann, Tracie Boyd, Deborah Hill, Shannon Jones, Melissa Lewis, Jonathan Wellman, Wendy Maimone, Casey Wehunt, Jr.; sixteen great grandchildren; sister, Margie Beam, Gastonia, North Carolina and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, Georgia 30907.
