SARDIS, Ga. - Neloise Herrington Long, 90, died Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Burke Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. Mrs. Long was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was retired from the Sardis Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her parents Nathaniel and Hattie Herrington and Annie Nease Herrington; her husband Sterling Long and her sisters, Mildred Yawn and Nancy Williams. Surviving are, her sons, Robert Long and wife Barbara of Martinez, Georgia, and Roy Long and wife JoAnn of Carrollton, Georgia; her daughter, Marie Saxon and husband Martin of Waynesboro, and her brother, Bonson Herrington and wife Sue of Wrightsville, Georgia. Her grandchildren, Lynn Hays and husband Jeff of Lake Bluff, ILL, Lisa Long of Grovetown, GA, Heather Byrge and husband Greg of Carrollton, GA., David Long and wife Nicole of Carrollton, GA., Glenn Saxon of Waynesboro, Sheron Thigpen and husband Mike of Waynesboro, Wesley Saxon and wife Bianca of Waynesboro, Alan Saxon and wife Kim of North Augusta, SC, sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, March 15, 2010 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sardis Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be Monday, March 15, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Sardis Baptist Church with the Reverend Wayne Dixon officiating. Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
