AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Edythe Rhoden of Augusta, Georgia passed away at the age of 97. Mrs. Rhoden was a native of Reidsville Georgia, the daughter of Rufus Jiles Rogers and Georgia Hines Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank H. Rhoden and two of her children, Annette Rhoden and Frank H. Rhoden, Jr. She is survived by one son, Joseph Michael Rhoden of Augusta. Mrs. Rhoden received her AB degree from G.S.C.W., her Master's Degree and Sixth Year Education Specialist Certificate from the University of Georgia. She retired in 1977 after 39 years of teaching in Reidsville, Georgia, Port Wentworth, Georgia, and Augusta, Georgia. She was a member of Retired Teachers and Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was an active member of Crestview Baptist Church and the Kennedy- Sunshine Class. A memorial service will be held 2 PM, Sunday March 14, 2010 at Crestview Baptist Church.
