AUGUSTA, Ga. - Betty Jean Gafford Beard, 80, entered into rest on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Trinity Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Lakemont Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jack Jagoditsch and Pastor Ryan Fisk officiating. Burial will be private at Westview Cemetery. Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her husband Fred Beard and her parents, Doris and William Gafford. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Powers, Augusta; niece, Lee Ann (Richard) Pendarvis, Edgefield, South Carolina; nephew, Cash Powers, Augusta; great nieces and nephews, Lilli Anne and Bailey Pendarvis and Katie, Jenny, Mari Beth and Allison Powers. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lakemont Presbyterian Church, 1000 Blue Bird Road, Augusta, Georgia 30904.
