AUGUSTA, Ga. - Linda Maples Chavel, 72, entered into rest on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Golden Living Nursing Home at Windermere. She loved drawing and painting as long as enjoyed listening to Dr. Charles Stanley at the First Baptist Church of Atlanta. Linda also attended Steven's Creek Community Church. She is survived by her daughters, Beth (Steve) Hall of Douglasville, GA, Christia (Jerry) Ashmore of Augusta, GA, and Melanie DeFrances of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Vivian Loy of Atlanta, GA; 10 grandchildren, 3 nephews and 2 nieces. Graveside services will be held 12:00p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Westover Memorial Park with Pastor Marty Baker officiating. Sorry To learn Linda is no longer with us. We were good friends at Decatur High School; and continued friends during her wedding to Bob Riley. We lost touch after that. My thoughts and prayers go with her family. Sorry I didn't stay in touch with her.
