AIKEN, S.C. - Entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, Ms. Juanita Courtney Garvin, age 93 of Aiken, S. C., wife of the late Pennington L. Garvin and daughter of the late Jordan Courtney, Sr. and the late Mollie Jackson Courtney. She is survived by a son-in-law and caregiver, Lanny Byrd of North Augusta, S. C.; sisters, Ida Cain and Mollie Price; granddaughters, Courtney Michelle Byrd and Sarah Gracelyn Byrd; a special niece, Bobbie Thomas of Aiken, S. C. and a number of nieces and nephews. She was born in New Holland, S. C. and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. She was a loving grandmother and a very special person who shall be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched; but Heaven is sweeter with her there. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, February 25th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Skelton and Pastor Julian Bowles officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville. The pallbearers will be Barry Solomon, Truman Page, Ed Jones and John Hudson. The family will receive friends tonight, Wednesday, February 24th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
