Dr. Byron C. Williams (MARTINEZ, Ga.)


MARTINEZ, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Doctors Hospital, Reverend Dr. Byron C. Williams of Crown Mill Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:00a.m. from Allen Chapel Baptist Church, 113 Allen Chapel Road, Waynesboro, GA, with Reverend Andrew Johnson officiating. The interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, 4501 Wrightsboro Road, Grovetown, GA. Rev. Dr. Byron C. Williams, a native of Blackville S.C., was born the youngest son of the late Cleveland and Nellie Williams. He attended public schools in Williston and Blackville S.C. After graduating high school, he joined and served four years in the U.S. Navy. Subsequent to his military career, in 1988, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. In 2000, he received a Master of Business Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University. As he continued his professional career at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions LLC, he served as the manager of the Nuclear Material Management Procedures Department. Rev. Williams accepted his "call" to the gospel ministry at First Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Augusta, GA. In January 2001, he was licensed to preach the Gospel. In January 2002, he was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel. In March of 2003, he was installed as Pastor of the Allen Chapel Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Georgia. In 2003, he earned his Bachelor of Theology; 2005, Masters of Theology and a Doctor of Ministry from Christian Life School of Theology in 2007. Others left to cherish his memory with his devoted wife, Shirley B. Williams; daughter, Breonn Williams and Shenna (Nathaniel) Wilder; and Terrell Williams of Atlanta, GA; brother, Cleveland (Nora) Williams and other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
