MATTHEW, Ga. - Betty W. Pennington, 81, wife of 59 years to George Pennington, entered into rest Monday, February 8, 2010. Funeral services will be held at James Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 11:00AM with the Reverend Griffin Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Betty was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County and a member of Woodland Baptist Church. She was a cancer survivor and a proud participant in Relay For Life. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Alma Hadden Williams, and six siblings. Survivors include her children, Jeff Pennington, Judy (Billy) Rowland, Jane Englett and Jenny (John) Felker; a brother, Bob Williams; two sisters, Catherine Newsome and Edith Williams; eight (8) grandchildren; and four (4) great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jim Gay, Jeff Gay, Terry Englett, Curt Newsome, Jimmy Pennington and Butch Pennington. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM this evening, Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at James Funeral Home and at the home of Billy and Judy Rowland, 11323 Campground Rd, Matthews, GA 30818.
