WARRENTON, Ga. - Mr. Manor Bruce Gilmer, Sr., 73 of Wright- Reese Rd. entered into rest February 2, 2010 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 5, 2010 at Little Brier Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: David Gilmer, Joey Gilmer, Ken Gilmer, Tracy Rogers, Joey Allen and Bob Brooks. Mr. Gilmer was a lifelong resident of Warren County, Georgia and was the son of the late Bruce Gilmer and the late Mary Smith Gilmer. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps following the Korean Conflict. Mr. Gilmer was retired as a scale operator from Georgia Pacific in Warrenton with 20 years of service. Survivors include: sons; J. R. Gilmer and his wife Marcia of Thomson, Georgia, Billy Doe Gilmer of Warrenton, Georgia, daughters; Debbie Gilmer Lee and her husband Terry of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Vivian Gilmer of Hardeeville, SC, brothers; Pete Gilmer, Darwin Gilmer, and Dave Gilmer all Warrenton, GA, sister, Faye Gilmer Harrison of Gibson, Georgia, grandchildren; Callie Gilmer, Clint Gilmer, Wesley Lee and Courtney McNorris. Friends may call at the Gilmer residence, 775 Wright-Reese Rd. Warrenton, Georgia or from 6 until 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
