Louise Phillips Lewis (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Louise Phillips Lewis, 92, of Augusta, GA, wife of the late Broadus Lewis and daughter of the late Wyman and Nettie McIntosh Wright, died Friday, January 1st, 2010. Born in and a lifelong of Augusta, GA, she was of the Baptist faith and retired from Sibley Mill. Prior to her health declining, Miss Louise enjoyed fishing and cross stitching. A very kind and caring person, Miss Louise always put the needs of others above her own. She volunteered at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Augusta, GA, and was awarded the 'Giving Your Best Award' from WJBF. Family members include her daughter, Carolyn P. Richardson, North Augusta, SC; sister, Edith Jones, (Kermit) Augusta, GA; grandchildren, Debbie Kight, (Ray) Beech Island, SC and Kerri Toole, (Stephen) North Augusta, SC; great-grandchildren, Melissa Ball, (Mike) Aiken, SC, Justin Toole, North Augusta, SC and Kendall Toole, North Augusta, SC; and great-great-grandchildren, Madison and Matthew Ball. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 3rd, 2010, at 2 o'clock from the graveside in Westview Cemetery, Augusta, GA, with Pastor David Lester officiating. Pallbearers will be Stephen Toole, Ray Kight, David Howard, Al Hayes and Mike Ball. The family has asked that memorials in memory of Miss Louise be made to Second Baptist Church, 655 Beech Island Ave., Beech Island, SC 29842.
