Joe D'Antignac (TRENTON, N.J.)

TRENTON, N.J. - Joe D'Antignac passed away Thursday afternoon, December 17, at Mercer Hospital. His zest for life carried him through to the very end. Joe Lewis D'Antignac was born in Augusta, Georgia on the 25th of May, 1939 to the late Susie Bell D'Antignac and Clayborne D'Antignac. Joe was educated in the schools of Augusta graduating from Lucy C. Laney High School. He was a lifelong student studying everything from photography to custom car repair. After spending his early years in Augusta, he relocated to Boston Massachusetts where he lived for many years. In the early years in Boston he was also known as Joe Soulful Nac during his time at radio station WILD. He retired from Delta Airlines in customer service. Joe moved to Trenton in 1999 where he enjoyed working for Starr Tours on its Atlantic City run where he was fondly known as 'Daddy Joe'. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bennie and James Lucas, and his daughter, Janet 'Sue' D'Antignac Pope. Joe is survived by is wife, Zara Miller D'Antignac; 4 daughters, Julia Polk (Coles), Jan D'Antignac, Dominique Bell (Rolando), Charla Hagan; 3 sons - Joe D'Antignac Jr., Joel D'Antignac, Louie D'Antignac, 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; cousins and other family and friends who truly adored him. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, at Union Baptist Church, 301 Pennington Ave. Trenton, NJ. Viewing from 9 AM, service at 11 AM.
