G.B 'Bill' Workman (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - G. B. "Bill" Workman, 96, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 17, 2009 at Aiken Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Driggers officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Born February 3, 1913 in Jesse, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William Simon and Julia Cook Workman. He was also preceded in death by his four sisters, Lellie, Ella, Pansy and Ulla and two brothers, Simon and Corbett Workman. Since 1973 he had made his home in Augusta. A carpenter and woodworker by trade, he was a passionate gardener and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds in his backyard garden. He is survived by his beloved wife of 75 years Ruby Scott Workman; four children, Naoma and husband, Dr. Gerald Ellison, Fayetteville, North Carolina, Earsel Gene and wife, Lynda Bragg-Workman, Hephzibah, Julia Annalee Kulick, Sacramento, California and Bill Edwin and wife, Diane Workman, North Augusta, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Lori Fuselier, Mary Claire Kulick, Erica Eder, Karen Kulick, Eric Workman, Jennifer Mann, Craig Workman, Dawn Craft and Mark Workman; twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Pine Hill Baptist Church, 4233 Old Waynesboro Road, Hephzibah, Georgia 30815.
