STAPLETON, Ga. - Mrs. Carrie H. Purvis, 81, widow of Mr. Rudolph Purvis, died Thursday, December 17, 2009, in the University Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 21, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Sutphin and Rev. Bill Seaman officiating. Burial will be in the Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Purvis was a native of Warren County. She had retired from the Thomson Company as a Seamstress and Inspector after 40 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Karen Peebles, Tupelo, Ms; her son, Mr. Gibson Purvis, Stapleton; two brothers, Harold Hobbs, Jacksonville Fl and C.W. Hobbs, Thomson; and four grandchildren, Rebecca Peebles, San Antonio Tx., Matthew Peebles, Tupelo, Ms, Brandi Purvis, Thomson, and Candace Purvis, Stapleton. Pallbearers will be Bobby Mauck, Sam Kitchens Jr., Jimmy Richardson, Darrell Blair, Mike Peebles, and Tommy Peebles. Friends may call at the residence or at the Curtis Funeral Home.
