Horace Weathersby   (MILLEN, Ga.)

MILLEN, Ga. - Horace Henry Weathersby, Jr., 77, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009. He was born in Jenkins County, a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, a retired construction superintendent for Kuhlke Construction Company and farmer. He was also a fifty two year member of Screven Lodge #248, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Oak Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am at the Elam Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honrs. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Hooks Weathersby; three sons, Horace H. (Kathy) Weathersby III and Jon Harvey (Correy) Weathersby both of Millen and Lee (Becky) Weathersby of Dry Branch; two daughters, Michelle W. (Ellis) Lovett of Loganville and Wendy W. (Keith) Ingram of LaFayette; a brother, Donald Weathersby of Vienna; three sisters, Grace Ezell of Warner Robins, Vivian Forehand of Sylvania, and Patsy Burke of Millen; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Active Pallbearers will be Joel Hooks Jr., Rayburn Johnson, Ricky Forehand, Fredrick Caldwell, Jay Cannady, Floyd Chance Jr., Damon Hooks Jr. and F. A. Black. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hank Joyner, William Kuhlke, Gordon Sasser, Edward Thompson, Cecil Proctor, H. G. Wiggins, Casey Johnson, Mel Bargeron, Jerry Waters, and Screven Lodge #248.
