William P. 'Pete' Jones (WARRENVILLE, S.C.)

WARRENVILLE, S.C. - Mr. William P. 'Pete' Jones, 86, of Warrenville, SC, beloved husband of sixty-two years to Mrs. Syble Gurganious Jones and son of the late Thomas and Annie Elizabeth Gantt Jones, died Sunday, June 21st, 2009. Born in Lexington County, SC, he had been an area resident since 1947. He retired from the Hickman Division of Graniteville Company. A World War II Veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a deacon and dedicated member of Southside Baptist Church, Gloverville, SC. In addition to his wife, family members include very special foster daughters, Carmon Lightsey Collie, Tryon, NC and Karen Lightsey Walker, Chester, SC; brother, Nathan Jones, Aiken, SC; a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 25th, 2009, at 2 o'clock at Southside Baptist Church, Gloverville, SC, with Pastor Jack Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Charles Williams, Sr., Jeffery Lanier, Charles Williams, Jr., Steve Collie, John P. Cash, III, Raymond Laluz, and James Neal Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be James Barton, Relford Lanier, and Michael Lanier. If so desired, the family has asked that memorials in memory of Pete be made to Southside Baptist Church, P.O. Box 517 Gloverville, SC 29828.
